Saturday August 29-- Decided to have a date night...
We wanted to go see Inglorious Bastards (which by the way is hilarious... Go see it)...
So... We got ready and headed out. We had rented a Redbox movie, so we had to go towards Perimeter to return it. We normally head the other way on Johnson Ferry when we go to the movies, so we were a little adventurous. I had looked up the movie times and saw that both theaters were showing the movie at 7:00pm. Keep in mind it is about 6:10 when we get the movie returned. Well, like always, we can't decide where to eat, so Thomas makes a decision and we pull into Applebee's. We are set down and then we wait 10 minutes for Richard, our waiter. I still think to this moment that Richard does not exist. Thomas ended up taking the menus back to the hostess and telling them that we did not have time to wait and that the waiter never showed even to take our drink orders. They apologized -- we left. It's now 6:30. We go driving closer to the movie theater, see it, memorize its location (since we've never been there before) and try to find a quick place to eat some dinner. I start naming places I see, Thomas thinks I named a place to go, so he flips a U-turn into a shopping center and starts to head to this place, and of course I didn't want that....So we keep driving LOL! He mentions he has a giftcard to Panera Bread... With my hawk eyes, I see a Panera Bread, we whip into a parking spot and head in. We both order.. (this 25 minutes after I told Thomas I did not want to go to Fresh To Order, a salad place, because I wasn't really in the mood for salad...) grilled chicken ceasar salads. Ok, so we are eating salads for dinner, that's pretty healthy, and the bread was AMAZING! We go to get ice, machine is out. Yep, just our night. Well the Mister Fix-It in Thomas comes out and instead of asking someone to get more ice, he reaches up to the top and wiggles something around...what happens? The top falls off, Thomas cracks his cup trying to catch it, it hits the floor, makes a tremendoulsy loud bang...all eyes in the restaraunt on us. Smile big, pretend like we didn't do that. We then walk over and tell the people they are out of ice. They take my cup, get Thomas a new one, and fill them up with ice, we get sweet tea, we sit down, we eat. It's 6:59 when we leave. We rush to the car, head out of the parking lot, completely forgetting where the movie theater is. I tell Thomas to go one way, then change my mind thinking it is back the other way... he reverses, pulls to the other side, we sit at the redlight, turn and realize we should have gone the way we were in the first place. He flips ANOTHER u-turn, speeds off, we make it to the theater, we go stand in line...get to the ticket stand...7:05.. Only 5 minutes late..Purchase our tickets, look at the time.. Movie starts at 7:40....
Oh for Saturday night date nights!

ReplyDeletedecisions, decisions...you what they say, "paralysis through analysis". Also, if you don't know where you're going, all roads lead there.
