Out and About...

OUT AND ABOUT BEFORE WORK STARTS MONDAY!!!

We started out heading to Minneapolis where we found it was just a mini-Atlanta. We had a great lunch at a place called Lyon's Pub, then walked around a little. It was cool seeing the metrodome! It's huge by the way!!We then decided to head out to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. This place was great, well I thought so at least! It was 1000 acres of gardens and trees. They also had pumpkin displays of the many different kinds they grew on their grounds. You should see some of these weird pumpkins!! Big, small, HUGE, warts, pokes, hooks, curves, turbans! You name it...they had them! It would be absolutely beautiful when all the flowers are in bloom! We went through a Shrub Maze..and it was a little frustrating. Got lost a couple times! Had some yummy apple dumplings and Thomas drank some coffee at the visitor center. Great times! It was all in all a fun day. Good to get out and enjoy the state we're living in!

This weekend Davis had his #2 Birthday Party and we greatly wished we could have been there with him and the family, but we know they gave him a great party!! I think he's in love with the Nerf Gun his Uncle Landon gave him!! What does Mama Lauren and Daddy Matt think about it though is the real question! :)

We wish all the Gold Rushers a fun and relaxing weekend...Sure do miss that little gold rush college town!

Wish Thomas luck! His lazy days are quickly dwindling!!!!! What will Mallory do now?!?!?!
Hopefully the teaching certificate will arrive soon...

Love to all!
Enjoy some of the pictures! Check out Facebook for all of them...

  1. Pirate party was fun, but we definitely missed you guys! Landon's nerf gun purchase was a MAJOR hit to say the least. Outside toy for sure :)

  2. Fall is definitely in the air. So glad you both had time to get acclimated to your new home before work begins. Love the pumpkin pictures. Will be thinking of Thomas tomorrow as he begins this new adventure in your lives. And Mallory, I'm sure you will be busy as you always are able to be. Hope your teaching certificate comes in soon to give you a few new options while there. Love you both. M Lu

  3. So glad that you both had a good day visiting around Minneapolis. I'm sure you were not sorry to miss the gold rush days as the weather was terrible. Rain and freezing cold. We had a fun time at the Pirates Party. Wish that you could have been there! Hope Thomas enjoys his new schooling ?? Loved your pictures!
    Love to you both, Nana

  4. I think we had one of those "pumpkin" owls visit our bird feeder recently...pumpkin "seeds" covered the ground and some of the nearby tree leaves turned orange.
We miss you both, but know you have a great adventure in the "Land of Ten Thousand Lakes".
I'm confident that God is directing your lives.
